The Annapurna Short Trek is a delightful 8-day adventure designed for travelers seeking a compact yet immersive Himalayan experience. It perfectly combines scenic trekking, cultural exploration, and the stunning natural beauty of the Annapurna region, all within a limited timeframe.
The journey begins in Kathmandu, followed by a scenic drive to the beautiful lakeside city of Pokhara. The trek kicks off from Nayapul, leading you through lush forests, past flowing streams, and into the heart of traditional Gurung and Magar villages like Ghandruk and Landruk. These villages offer a warm welcome and a fascinating glimpse into local mountain life, culture, and traditions.
The trail continues through enchanting alpine forests to Potana, with ever-present, stunning views of Himalayan giants like Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and the iconic Machhapuchhre (Fishtail). A relaxing soak in the natural hot springs at Jhinu Danda is a perfect way to soothe tired muscles. Things That You Need to Know
Duration & Difficulty:
The Annapurna Short Trek is an 8-day package. It is considered an easy trek, suitable for beginners and families with no prior trekking experience. The daily walks are manageable, focusing on enjoyment and cultural immersion.
Altitude:
The trek reaches a maximum altitude of around 2,500-3,000 meters. Altitude sickness is generally not a concern, but staying hydrated is always good practice.
Best Season:
The best times are Spring (March to May) and Autumn (September to November) for clear skies and pleasant temperatures. The trek is also possible in other seasons due to its lower altitude.
Accommodation & Meals:
Accommodation during the trek is in basic but comfortable tea houses or guesthouses. The package includes three meals a day during the trek, plus hotel stays in Kathmandu and Pokhara with breakfast.
Permits Required:
You will need the Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP) and a TIMS (Trekkers Information Management System) card. These are included in our package and will be arranged for you.
