What Is the Everest Base Camp Trek?
The Everest Base Camp Trek is a 15-day classic Himalayan trekking adventure in Nepal that takes you to the foot of Mount Everest (8,848 m) — the world's highest mountain — through Sherpa villages, glacial valleys, and the heart of Sagarmatha National Park.
Starting with a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, the trail winds through iconic landmarks before reaching Everest Base Camp (5,357 m) and the sunrise viewpoint of Kala Patthar (5,545 m). Here's what you'll experience along the way:
Lukla (2,828 m) – Fly from Kathmandu to the gateway of the Khumbu region
Phakding & Namche Bazaar (3,440 m) – Trek through pine forests and suspension bridges; rest day for acclimatization
Tengboche (3,867 m) – Visit the famous Tengboche Monastery with Everest views
Dingboche & Lobuche (4,410 m–4,930 m) – Trek deeper into glacial valleys surrounded by high peaks
Everest Base Camp (5,357 m) – Stand beneath the mighty Khumbu Icefall
Kala Patthar (5,545 m) – Panoramic sunrise views of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, and the Khumbu Glacier

Things That You Need to Know
Best Season to Trek EBC:
Autumn (September - November) and spring (March-May) are the best trekking seasons for trekking and mountaineering in Nepal. The weather is mostly clear, and the temperature is moderate, which offers beautiful views without any obstruction. Spring collects beautiful flowers, plants, and rare animals. Walking is also very suitable during this season. Summer (June - August) and winter (December - February). Though summer collects heavy monsoon rainfall, it is very clear to trek around Mustang, Dolpo, and Nar-Phu valley since they are rain shadow areas. Tibet is much more favorable for a Tibet trek. Everest, Langtang, and Annapurna is always comfortable to trek even in the winter season.
Experience & Fitness:
Trekking in Nepal for Everest Base Camp and Annapurna Base Camp does not require past experience, though we have a challenging route in Everest compared to Annapurna; our itinerary suggests walking comfortable distances. Trekking in the Himalayas always takes us to challenging altitudes and rocky routes, demands proper rest time and acclimatization to sustain our strength. We always have both listed properly in our itinerary. However, certain training like running, skipping, and other workouts will definitely help you in roots.
Acclimatization:
Altitude sickness is a significant risk when trekking on any trails above about 2500m. However, good health, proper care, and drinking plenty of water will definitely help you to prevent altitude sickness. Every trekker needs to be familiar with the heights so, for this, we have life-saving acclimatization days during the trek, peak climbing, and expedition. We also provide certain medical support for your relief and emergency rescue through helicopter whenever guests require.
Eco-Friendly:
We only leave footprints! Global Nepal Treks is very much concern agency on environmental pollution and Global Warming. We are always serious and genuine about our garbage during the trek, especially in Camping type. We collect all the rubbish and deposit it in the proper place to protect our environment. We also partake in every program conducted in KEEP Kathmandu Environmental Education Project. We also suggest all travelers protect our environment and Stop Global Warming.

Trekking in the Everest region around the Himalayan region goes through unexpected complications like natural and health challenges, resulting in changes in the itinerary for your security during the trek. Flights in the Everest region are very dedicated even in the best season due to bad weather, so we request our travelers to carry luggage for extra days in Kathmandu or in Lukla.
