Everest Base Camp Trek
Everest Base Camp Trek Overview
The Everest Base Camp Trek is Nepal's most iconic Himalayan trekking adventure, offering an unforgettable journey to the foot of the world's highest mountain, Mount Everest (8,848 m). This classic trek combines spectacular mountain scenery, rich Sherpa culture, and a carefully designed route that allows proper acclimatization for a safe and rewarding experience.
The trek begins in Kathmandu, followed by a scenic flight to Lukla, the gateway to the Khumbu region. From here, the trail passes through beautiful Sherpa villages such as Phakding, Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, Dingboche, and Lobuche, crossing suspension bridges, pine forests, and glacial valleys within Sagarmatha National Park. A rest day in Namche Bazaar supports gradual altitude adaptation while offering insight into local life.
A major highlight of the trek is the walk to Everest Base Camp (5,357 m), where trekkers stand beneath the mighty Khumbu Icefall. An early-morning climb to Kala Patthar (5,545 m) provides breathtaking panoramic views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Pumori, and the Khumbu Glacier—one of the most memorable viewpoints in the Himalayas.
The return journey follows the same scenic trail back to Lukla before flying to Kathmandu. This trek is ideal for adventure seekers, first-time high-altitude trekkers, and mountain lovers looking for a classic Himalayan experience with experienced local guides and well-managed logistics.
