The journey begins in Kathmandu, followed by a scenic drive to Salleri and the start of the trek from Bhasa, passing through remote villages, lush forests, and high mountain trails including Khari Khola, Paiya, Ghat, and Namche Bazaar. After acclimatization in Namche, the trek ascends through Tengboche, Dingboche, Lobuche, and Gorakshep, culminating in an early-morning climb to Kala Patthar (5,545 m) for unparalleled views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and the Khumbu Glacier.
The route then continues toward the Gokyo Valley, crossing the challenging Chola Pass (5,360 m) and visiting the stunning Gokyo Lakes and Gokyo Ri (5,357 m) for panoramic Himalayan vistas including Makalu and Cho Oyu. The trek returns via Machhermo, Dole, and Namche to Lukla, followed by a flight back to Kathmandu. The Everest Gokyo trek via Bhasa typically takes 23 days as per our detailed itinerary, depending on the chosen route and trekking pace. On average, trekkers can expect to walk around 5 to 7 hours per day, covering a distance of approximately 10 to 15 kilometers, depending on the terrain and altitude gain.
Altitude & Difficulty:
Gokyo Ri stands at approximately 5,357 meters, while Everest Base Camp is situated at around 5,364 meters. The highest point reached is Kala Patthar at 5,545 meters. This trek is considered challenging due to long days, high altitude, and the crossing of Cho La Pass (5,360m). While it doesn't require technical climbing skills, trekkers should be well-prepared for high-altitude walking and have good physical fitness.
Best Season:
The best seasons are Spring (March-May) and Autumn (September-November). During these periods, the weather is generally clear and stable, with mild daytime temperatures and colder nights at higher altitudes. However, weather conditions can be unpredictable, so it's essential to be prepared for changes.
Accommodation & Meals:
Accommodation during the trek mainly includes teahouses or lodges along the trail, providing basic amenities such as beds, blankets, and meals. Teahouses offer a variety of meals including Nepali dal bhat, Tibetan noodles and momos, and international options like pasta and soups. All meals are included during the trek.
Permits Required:
Permits required include the Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit and the TIMS (Trekkers Information Management System) card. These are included in your package.

While not mandatory, hiring a guide and porter is highly recommended for safety, navigation, and to enhance the overall trekking experience. Our package includes an experienced English-speaking guide and porter service (1 porter for 2 guests).
Medical & Communication:
Basic medical facilities are available at some villages along the route, but they may be limited. We recommend carrying a personal first aid kit. Our guides carry a comprehensive first aid kit for groups larger than 6. In case of serious emergencies, helicopter evacuation can be arranged. Mobile phone coverage and internet access are available at some villages, although signal strength may vary.

In case of bad weather or other unforeseen circumstances, alternative options may include adjusting the itinerary, staying at lower altitudes until conditions improve, or arranging helicopter evacuation if necessary. Flights in the Everest region may face disruptions even during peak seasons; we can arrange alternative solutions at additional expense.
